2013 NSCAA Convention
Returns To Indianapolis.
Registration is underway for the 2013 NSCAA Convention in Indianapolis, IN, Jan. 16-20. See Page 23.
The annual convention attracts soccer coaches of all levels from youth, high school, collegiate and professional leagues. It is the largest soccer coaches convention in the world, annually attracting over 5,000 coaches.
The 2013 convention also marks the first time that US Youth Soccer has merged its annual Workshop into the NSCAA convention. This will provide US Youth Soccer attendees access to the NSCAA clinics and vendor displays, while allowing US Youth Soccer meetings and awards events to be held during a singular event.
Among the clinicians for the 2013 convention training sessions is Tom Sermanni, recently hired as the new head coach of the U.S. Women’ National Team.
Other are UNC’s Anson Dorrance, Florida’s Becky Burleigh, Notre Dame’s Randy Waldrum, former U.S. Women’s National coaches Tony DiCicco and April Henrichs, former Major League Soccer forward Taylor Twellman and Dick Bate from the English FA.
Major League Soccer will again hold its MLS SuperDraft during the NSCAA convention. That draft, and a number of other events during the convention, will be televised on FOX Soccer Channel.
