A Trip To Afghanistan.
Former U.S. Women’s National Team midfielder Lorrie Fair recently traveled to Kabul, Afghanistan, as part of the U.S. Department of State’s Empowering Women and Girls Through Sports initiative, which aims to increase the number of women and girls who participate in all aspects of sports.
Fair, a former All-America at the University of N.C. Chapel Hill, also conducted sports clinics with Afghan women as part of the program, and held a workshop with the Afghanistan Women’s National Team.
During her five-day visit, Fair led clinics with young female soccer players from the greater Kabul area, spearheaded conversations on leadership, and visited with U.S. military personnel.
