Geiger, Marrufo

Two Americans, Mark Geiger and Jair Marruto are on the provisional “open list” of referee prospects for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
Geiger is from Beechwood, NJ, and has been a FIFA referee since 2008 Marrufo, a El Paso, Texas, native, has been a FIFA referee since 2007. Both currently referee in Major League Soccer.
They were among a group of 52 potential World Cup referees worldwide who were invited to take part in a late September seminar in Zurich, Switzerland.
