Jozy On A Scoring Tear.
U.S. national team forward Jozy Altidore netted his first professional hat trick at the club level on Sept. 15, as AZ Alkmaar routed Roda JC 4-0 in a Dutch Eredivisie game. Altidore, who just returned to the Netherlands from World Cup qualifying duty, struck in the 12th, 40th and 65th minutes and assisted on Erik Falkenburg’s goal in the 29th. AZ has scored 10 goals this season. Altidore has seven of them.
In mid-August, Altidore scored two goals in a 2-2 draw with Ajax, and two in a 3-1 win over Hercales in Eredivisie games..
The 22-year-old’s only other hat trick at the senior level came back in April 2009, when he scored all three goals in the U.S.’s 3-0 win over Trinidad and Tobago at a World Cup qualifier in Nashville.
