Scotsman Tom Sermanni Named New U.S. Women’s Coach

Has A History Of Success At International Level
When Pia Sundhage shook the hand of Tom Sermanni at the end of her last game as U.S. Women’s National Team coach, who would have known it would be a symbolic act.
As it turned out it was the passing of the torch to the next U.S. WNT coach.
Sundhage completed her five-years coaching the U.S. team with a 6-2 victory over Sermanni’s Australian National Team on Sept. 20 in Commerce City, CO.
At the time, it was speculated that Sermanni would be on the USA’s list of candidates for the job. On Oct. 30 U.S. Soccer president Sunil Gulati made it official. Serma…
