To say that senior Caroline Brown (Hershey, Pa.) has been a great college experience at the University of Tennessee is a understatement. She has been a clutch performer for the Lady Vols. Her game-winner against then-#25 Ole Miss on Oct. 4 was the 15th match-winner of her career, tying Kylee Rossi’s {2005-08) program record. Four of her seven goals this season have been game-winners. Her experience has been appreciated by her parents, who have announced the endowment of the Caroline Brown Scholarship by the Brown family…Nolan Moore scored the game-winning goal in the 87th minute as Louisville (10-3-2, 5-1-1) edged Memphis 2-1 in front of a school-record crowd of 1,204 at Mike Rose Soccer Complex. Memphis senior midfielder Liam Collins was credited with an assist on the Tigers’ goal by Fakhry Khulfan, giving him 34 for his career, tying him with Dayton O’Brien for most career assists in Memphis history…..Lincoln Memorial had more than three times the number of shots as did Tusculum, but the Pioneers had the game’s only shot that went into the goal. Gabrielle Whitt (Mason, Ohio) had the winning goal. It was her first goal of the season…..The Memphis women closed out their regular season with a dominating 5-1 win over the University of Connecticut. Kaitlyn Atkins’ assist on the opening goal by Diamond Simpson gave her 13 for the season, setting a new Memphis single season record. Memphis, seeded seventh, will meet #2 Houston in the first round on the American Athletic Conference tournament in Louisville, KY….The Brazilian duo of Mario Pinto and Leonardo da Silva scored all three goals, capped by Pinto’s game-winner in the 98th minute to lead the Lincoln Memorial Railsplitters to a 3-2 SAC overtime win over the Catawba….Lee University handed Union a 4-0 loss, improving the Lady Flames to 7-1 in Gulf South action and 10-3 overall. Summer Lanter (Soddy-Daisy, Tenn.) scored her ninth goal of the season.
