Knoxville, TN, native Martha Hall scored her 32 career goal on “her day” in her last home game at Furman to give the Paladins a 1-0 victory over Appalachian State. Hall, Furman’s only senior, scored her 15th career game-winner on Senior Day and moved the Paladins to 11-3-2 overall and 4-2-2 in SoCon play. Hall was an all-state player as a freshman and sophomore at Knoxville Catholic, but played her last two years of high school soccer at IMG Academy in Brandenton, FL….Mario Pinto (Uberlandia, Brazil) scored a pair of goals to lead Lincoln Memorial to a 2-0 win over host Catawba in South Atlantic Conference men’s soccer action at Frock Field. The Railsplitters improve to 9-3-1 overall and 5-3 in the SAC, while the Catawba Indians fall to 7-6-3 and 2-3-3……Memphis (5-5-3, 1-1-2 C-USA) held a 15-5 advantage in shots, including a 6-1 upperhand in shots on goal, and came away with a Conference USA 2-1 victory over South Carolina (4-9-2, 1-5-1 C-USA) in Columbia, SC. Forward Mark Sherrod posted the game winner for the Tigers, while Liam Collins added a goal and an assist in the match. Braeden Troyer scored his third goal of the season for Carolina in the match….After scoring a pair of game-winners this past weekend against #9 Texas A&M and Ole Miss, Tennessee sophomore forward Hannah Wilkinson (New Zealand) garnered Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week and SEC Offensive Player of the Week honors. Sophomore goalkeeper Julie Eckel (Cordova, TN) was named SEC Defensive Player of the Week…..Vanderbilt reshirt sophomore goalkeeper Alexa Levick missed most of last season with concussion symdrom, but is back on the field for 2012 and playing fulltime. The Wyoming, Ohio, keeper started the first four games in 2011, with two shutouts, before being injured in the second half against South Florida. After a comeback attempt seven games later, she encountered some setbacks in her recovery and returned to the sideline for the remainder of the season.
