Young Harris Mountain Lions Ranked #6.
The Mountain Lions of Young Harris College riding their first-ever Top 25 national ranking, moved up 12 spots in the NSCAA Division II poll to #6. At the time of the rankings the Mountain Lions were 5-0-0.
Since then they have moved to 7-1-0, the latest win 2-1 over Georgia Gwinnett College., Young Harris rallied for a pair of second half goals for the win. Andreas Pechmann’s penalty kick proved to be the game-winner.
Tom Butler’s 11th goal of the season gave Georgia Gwinnett a 1-0 first-half lead. The Grizzlies dropped their first game of the season, falling to 6-1-1.
Earlier, Young Harris picked up its sixth win of the season, and second in Peach Belt Conference play, with a 3-1 win over South Carolina Aiken. Ilija Ilic and Niall McCabe combined for the first two Mountain Lions goals, each assisting the other on scoring strikes.
