RailHawks To Host LA Galaxy in U.S. Open Cup.
The Carolina RailHawks had a decisive victory over PSA Elite. Brian Shriver became the 25th player in the modern pro era to score a hat trick in a U.S. Open Cup match and he ended with four goals on the match. Zack Schilawski and Amir Lowery also scored goals.
“Today we played a great match, things fell into place, we moved the ball great, and attacked with conviction. We had very good performances by the guys on the pitch today and we were able to score a lot of goals,” said Head Coach Colin Clarke.
“The team deserved a win like today, they have been working very hard so it’s nice to see them earn a win like that. Now we will prepare for the Galaxy, it’s always special when you get to play an MLS team and we hope our fans come to WakeMed Soccer Park to support us.”
The RailHawks scored five goals in the first half. Shriver scored a hat trick, Lowery scored a goal and forward Schilawski scored his first RailHawks goal and also had two assists. Austin Da Luz, who was very active offensively, assisted Shriver in his second goal. Colombian midfielder Breiner Ortiz set up Schilawski for his goal.
