Richmond Kickers Will Host D.C. United.
The Richmond Kickers advanced to the Third Round of the U.S. Open Cup with a convincing 4-0 victory over Aegean Hawks FC of the U.S. Adult Soccer Association Tuesday at the Dulles Sportsplex.
Early goals by Christopher Agorsor and Gerson Dos Santos gave the visiting Kickers a first-half lead that they held throughout the match. Agorsor scored his second goal in the second half two minutes before Nozomi Hiroyama rounded out the scoreline in the 84th minute.
The win earned the Kickers a Major League Soccer match-up, as they host D.C. United for the first time in four years at Richmond City Stadium next Tuesday, May 29 at 7 p.m.
Agorsor’s first goal came in the 20th minute. Eight minutes later Dos Santos finished a header from Luke Vercoillone to give Richmond a 2-0 halftime lead.
The Kickers return to regular season action this Saturday, May 26 when they host the Wilmington Hammerheads at 7 p.m. at Richmond City.
