2012 NSCAA/Continental Tire All-America Collegiate Teams.
Eight players are earning their second NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Men’s Division I All-America honors. They include Connecticut’s Andre Blake and Carlos Alvarez, Akron’s Scott Caldwell, Coastal Carolina’s Ashton Bennett, Furman’s Walker Zimmerman, Sacred Heart’s Marcello Castro, New Mexico’s Kyle Venter, and Maryland’s John Stertzer .
Additionally, this year’s First Team features the three MAC Hermann Award finalists in Notre Dame’s Ryan Finlay, Creighton’s Jose Gomez and Maryland’s Patrick Mullins.
This year’s Division I Women’s All-America list features 17 student-athletes making repeat appearances as All-America selections, including North Carolina’s Crystal Dunn (Rockville Centre, N.Y.), Boston College’s Kristen Mewis (Hanson, Mass.), Dayton’s Colleen Williams (Titusville, N.J.) and Florida State’s Tiffany McCarty (Laurel, Md.), who all have two All-America honors to their credit.
Fort Lewis College placed four players, goalkeeper Ryan Wirth, Berekk Blackwell, Fabian King and Thomas Hoang on the men’s Division II All-America first team. King is a repeat A-A
The West Florida Argos, Division I Women’s National Champions, placed junior Chelsey Palmer and goalkeeper Sarah Story on the D-II All-America first team.
Sophomore midfielder Jeremy Payne was first team Division III All-America for national champion Messiah College. The Messiah women also won their D-III national title and senioir Alexandra Brandt was named All-America for the third time.
Emory’s Lauren Gorodetsky, only a junior, earned her third Division III women’s All-America honor.
University of Mobile senior Stephen Okai and Lindsey Wilson senior Lebogang Moloto were first team NAIA All-America. It was the third A-A selection for each.
Lindsey Wilson senior Mia Peersson was also selected to the NAIA women’s All-America first team for the third time. Lee University’s Amy Cochran and teammates Ode Fulutudilu and Leah Fortune (NAIA Player of Year) earned All-America first team honors for the second time.
