Illinois head women’s soccer coach Janet Rayfield will receive the 2012 NSCAA Honor Award, the Asso-

ciation’s most prestigious award, at annual convention Awards Banquet, Friday evening, January 18.

She is the first female recipient of the award.

Rayfield, a Texas native who played collegiate soccer at North Carolina, is a past president of the NSCAA. Her coaching resume includes a national championship, eight NCAA tournament appearances, two Big Ten tournament titles and assistant coach positions for the senior U.S. Women’s National Team and U-20 WNT.

In addition to receiving the Honor Award, Rayfield is also a featured clinican at the 2013 Convention.
