The 2013 MLS SuperDraft is scheduled to be held on Thursday, Jan. 17, in conjunction with the NSCAA convention in Indianapolis, IN. This marks the 11th consecutive year the draft has been held at the convention.
Barring trades, Toronto FC will have the first pick in the draft, followed by Chivas USA, Portland, New England and Vancouver. The Whitecaps got the #5 pick in a trade with the Philadelphia Union. The draft will consist of two rounds with 38 players selected.
The eight-team National Women’s Soccer League College Draft is set for Friday, Jan. 18, at the NSCAA convention. The league’s first college draft consist of four rounds (32 players).
