January 2014 Issue
Our January, 2014 issue will again contain a special section for the NSCAA Convention, which will be held in Philadelphia, Pa. A copy of that issue is distributed to every convention participant, including those attending the four-day event for the US Youth Soccer Workshop, the SAY AGM and other meetings and conferences that take part during four days in January beginning Jan. 15.
In order to get a head start in producing this issue, we must begin in December. Therefore, our November and December issues have been combined. Publication of this issue was delayed in order to be able to report on the end of the collegiate season and national championships.
We hope you enjoy this issue, and look forward to our January issue, which will kick off our 36th year of publishing Southern Soccer Scene. Meanwhile, we extend our readers best wishes for the holidays, and a Happy New Year!
Have A Baby, Have A Ball
How is this for a World Cup product promotion? It was announced that every baby born in Brazil on December 3, 2013 would receive a soccer ball. The significance of that day is the unveiling of adidas’ new World Cup 2014 ball and the launch of a marketing campaign that says that every Brazilian baby is born with a soccer ball “by its feet.” .
