The Ohio University Women’s Soccer Team has a new addition to its staff, as former professional goalkeeper Allison Whitworth will be joining the Bobcats as an assistant coach. Whitworth, a Birmingham, Ala., native and 2007 graduate of Auburn, spent the last two seasons serving as an assistant coach/goalkeeper coach at Middle Tennessee State University…..Amy Berbary, an assistant at Auburn and the Tigers’ associate head coach during the 2013 season, is the new head women’s soccer coach at Indiana University. Berbary, a native of Alpharetta, GA, played collegiate soccer at the University of Georgia, closing out her career as the Bulldogs’ #3 in career goals and points. Berbary has hired Sergio Gonzalez and Benji Walton to her staff as assistants. Walton joins the Hoosiers after serving as women’s head coach at Birmingham Southern College for the past six seasons….Bruce Dietterle has returned to the University of Montevallo as an assistant men’s soccer coach after spending one season as an assistant at Stetson University. Dietterle previously served a two-year stint as an assistant coach with the Falcons, helping lead Montevallo to a 30-7-6 record during 2010 and 2011 seasons, which included the program’s first Peach Belt Conference tournament championship …..University of South Alabama head coach Graham Winkworth has announced the addition of Florida State transfer Rylee Hart (Pace, Fla.) to the 2013-14 squad. Hart, a sophomore defender, appeared in four games for the 20-4 Seminoles last year……Brian Newmeyer (Montgomery) was elected Vice President-Competitive at the Alabama Soccer Association AGM in late February. Russell Richey (Birmingham) was elected Vice President-Adults. Jenny Oliver from the Huntsville Soccer Club was named the ASA Publix Parent of the Year…..With seven straight NCAA tournament berths and two consecutive SEC tournament championship game appearances, Auburn head coach Karen Hoppa has received a five-year extension to her contract, keeping her at Auburn through the 2017 season. Hoppa came to Auburn prior to the 1999 season and has guided the program to a 164-111-24 (.587) mark during her 14 seasons.
