A familiar face will be returning to the sidelines in Oxford, Ohio, as Hugh Seyfarth has been named the new Miami University women’s soccer assistant coach, head coach Bobby Kramig announced. Seyfarth, who previously served as an assistant with the RedHawks, begins his duties immediately and replaces Nate Lie, who took a similar position at the University of Cincinnati in December. Seyfarth comes back to Miami after serving as head coach of the men’s soccer team at Division II Florida Southern College for the last eight seasons. He brings over 19 years of coaching experience to the RedHawks’ staff, including 17 at the collegiate level and seven at Miami….Sporting Kansas City has agreed to loan four of the MLS club’s players to Orlando City, the team’s new minor league affiliate in the USL Pro league. Goalkeeper Jon Kempin (UNC Wilmington), defender Yann Sango’o, midfielder Christian Duke and forward Dom Dwyer were to join Orlando City to prepare for that club’s season opener April 7. Sporting KC reached a two-year agreement with Orlando City in January, providing an avenue for players who don’t see regular action with Sporting KC to get meaningful time in competitive games…..Florida State has hired Wes Hart as an assistant women’s soccer coach. He replaces Morinao Imaizumi, who returned to Japan and his role with JFA in January after spending two seasons as a Seminoles assistant. Hart comes to FSU after spending eight years in a number of roles with the Colorado Rush…..Florida Gators head coach Becky Burleigh has signed an eight-player recruiting class for the fall of 2013 which includes a pair of incoming freshmen from Florida. They are Maggie Dougherty Howard (Largo, FL/St. Petersburg Catholic) and Katie Richmond (Pensacola/Pensacola Catholic)…..Ponte Vedra HS’ Daniel Villarreal has been named the 2013 Florida Dairy Farmers Boys Soccer Coach of the Year. Villarreal led his team to the Class 3A state title, defeating Plantation American Heritage 2-0 in the final…..After 17 seasons, Ray Walden is out as girls soccer coach after leading Our Lady of Lourdes (Miami) to the Class 5A state championship game and a 20-3 season. He was also named Class 5A State COY by the Florida Dairy Farmers.
