Former University of Richmond standouts Edda Gardarsdottir ’03 and Olina Vidarsdottir ’04 have signed professional contracts to play for the Chelsea Ladies Football Club in the English FA Women’s Professional League.
Both regulars on the full National Team of Iceland, Edda and Olina were standouts on the 2002 Richmond women’s soccer team that advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament.
They have been playing professionally for Oremo in Sweden’s top Women’s Professional Soccer League for the past four years.
