Timothy Keegan (‘ 94) was one of six former athletes inducted into the Georgetown Athletics Hall of Fame in February. A three-time first team all-BIG EAST selection, Keegan was named twice to the All-South Atlantic team. A recipient of team outstanding offensive player honors, he graduated as Georgetown’s all-time leader in assists and total points. A two-time captain, he led his team in 1994 to its best record in school history and first-ever berth in the NCAA tournament…..Old Dominion University men’s head soccer coach Alan Dawson has announced that Travis Myernick has been named an assistant coach. Myernick comes to ODU after serving two seasons as first assistant at Rider University. Dawson and his ODU Monarchs spent their spring break in Barcelonna, Spain, March 9-16………Men’s soccer defensive stalwart Stephen Franzke ’98 and field hockey star Virginia Casabo ’99 were inducted as the 44th Class of the American University’s Stafford H. “Pop” Cassell Hall of Fame in February. Franzke, an integral part of American’s 1997 NCAA Tournament run, leading the Eagles to the NCAA Quarterfinals for just the second time in program history, was inducted by current head men’s soccer coach Todd West and then former AU head coach Bob Jenkins. Franzke was a four-year starter and four-year captain for the American University men’s soccer team. He was a two-time First Team Regional All-American in 1996 and 1997…..Longtime William and Mary head men’s coach Al Albert will be one of the five former Tribe legends inducted into the William and Mary Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2013 on April 13. Albert led the Tribe men’s soccer team as head coach for 33 seasons before retiring from coaching in January of 2004. He amassed a record of 401-187-64 (.664) and became just the eighth coach in NCAA Division I history to reach 400 wins, and just the third to have earned all those wins at one school…..George Mason’s Diane Drake has also taken her team to Europe for spring break training. They are splitting a 10-day trip between France and Spain.
