Randy Vogt, who writes our monthly referee column, and is the Director of Public Relations for the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association, passed this photo on to us from a girls Under-10 soccer game in Westchester New York.
The Edgemont Fire goalkeeper could not tie her unlaced shoe since she was wearing goalie gloves, so an opposing forward on the Scardale Independence bent down and tied her shoe.
“Seeing something spontaneous like this in a 10-year-old really puts competition in perspective,” commented Westchester Youth Soccer League President Julian DiDonato.
