As part of the Rapids’ adidas Alliance, launched in 2009, the Carolina Rapids will work with the Rapids staff to provide common coaching and parent education, and will receive administrative support from Rapids Academy staff who will be on site several times throughout the year.
The Colorado Rapids deal is the second this year between one of North Carolina’s largest soccer clubs and a professional team.
In February, the Capital Area Soccer League announced a three-year partnership with the NASL Carolina RailHawks.
Previously, CASL operated under a five-year partnership with English Premier League giant Chelsea that had run its course. Now CASL Development Academy and ECNL teams will play as the Capital Area RailHawks and wear the official adidas uniforms of the RailHawks.
Newly appointed Capital Area RailHawks Academy Director John Bradford will also serve as an assistant coach with the RailHawks.
