This will be the first camp for the U-20s after their strong runnerup performance at the CONCACAF U-20 Championship. The U.S. earned the World Cup berth with a 4-2 win over Canada in the quarterfinals. They lost 3-1 in overtime to Mexico in the championship match.
“This is a very important camp for us and is a segue toward selecting our final group for the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup,” said Ramos. The April roster includes 12 players from the CONCACAF U-20 Championship squad. That includes Benji Joya, Wil Trapp and Jose Villarreal, who were outstanding in the regional tournament. Former U.S. MNT goalkeeper Kasey Keller will join the team as an assistant coach.
