The Game Mia Played In Goal

North Florida head coach Linda Hamilton was a key defender for the U.S. Women’s National Team during the 1995 World Cup in Sweden.
Her teammate Mia Hamm played 275 times for the USA, but a seldom mentioned game was the one in which Mia played in the goal.
During the ’95 World Cup in a game against Denmark, goalkeeper Briana Scurry was red carded late in the game. Having used all of his allotted subs, U.S. coach Tony DiCicco put Hamm in goal for the game’s closing minutes.
