VSI Tampa Bay FC has signed former American college and professional midfielder Stacy Bishop for the 2013 W-League season. Bishop, a native of the Tampa area, last played for the Atlanta Beat of Women’s Professional Soccer. She played for Land O’Lakes HS and led her team to the state championship as a senior. She still holds the all-time scoring record for Pasco County with 192 goals. She played SEC collegiate soccer at LSU and the University of Florida…..Jupiter forward Kristina Fisher, 14, has been called to a national team training camp for the fourth time. This time its the U.S. U15 Girls squad on the campus of SMU in Dallas, TX. She will be joined by another Floridian, goalkeeper McKinlsey Crone from Maitland…..Patrick Baker, the new head coach for the Florida Atlantic University women’s program, will also serve as a coach and trainer for the Team Boca Soccer Club…..It took only nine games, but Englishman Dom Dwyer, on loan from Sporting Kansas City of MLS, broke the Orlando City single-season scoring record with his 11th and 12th goals of the season in its 2-2 USL Pro tie with the Harrisburg City Islanders. It was Dwyer’s fourth consecutive multi-goal game…..Former University of Central Florida midfielder Andrea Rodrigues has signed to play for VSI Tampa Bay FC of the United Soccer Leagues’ W-League…..The University of Miami fired women’s head soccer coach Tom Anagnost. The unexpected announcement came in late April. Anagnost had been on the job for only two seasons, and his Hurricanes posted a 19-15-5 two-year record. Before taking the Miami job, he was the head coach at Central Michigan for three seasons where his teams were 40-12-7…..After 17 seasons at Our Lady of Lourdes (Miami) and guiding the girls soccer team to a best-ever Class 5A state runner-up finish this past season, Ray Walden is out as coach. Walden was named Class 5A State Coach of the Year by the Florida Dairy Farmers Association….The Florida Youth Soccer Annual General Meeting (AGM) is scheduled for August 2-4 at the Omni Hotels & Resorts, Championsgate in Orlando.
