Call it sibling rivalry. The Green twins do keep track of their individual goals.
Amanda Green had a goal and assisted on another for Hilton Head Island HS in the SCHSAA 3-A girls soccer championship game. Her twin sister, Ashley, also scored a goal as the Seahawks beat Eastside for their their third consecutive state title title.
The 3-2 victory gave the Seahawks a sweep of the state 3-A titles, coming after the boys team had beaten Eastside.
Logan Danzell’s goal for Hilton Head Island in the 61st minute would prove to be the difference.
Down 3-0 late in the second half, Eastside rallied with a pair of goals from Nattalie Royaards and Asheton Robinson, but the Eagles could not get the equalizer.
Hilton Head, with 12 seniors, eight of whom were starters, closed out the season with 15 consecutive wins. The Seahawks were 23-3-0 overall. Eastside finished 22-3-1.
Two of the starters are the Green sisters. A good foundation for a run at #4.

The Cavaliers led 1-0, but in a flash Puerifoy beat the clock with the tying goal forcing overtime against Christ Church, which took the lead in the 21st minute on Silton Furman’s goal.
After two scoreless 10-minute overtime periods and two sudden-death five minute periods, the game went to a shootout.
