RailHawks Win To Host Los Angeles Galaxy In Open Cup

May 23, 2013 by Ray Alley

The PDL Carolina Dynamo played the NASL Carolina RailHawks close for the first half, but wilted in the second.
The RailHawks’ 3-1 victory advanced them to the third round of the 2013 U.S. Open Cup and gave them a home game against MLS champion Los Angeles Galaxy on Wednesday, May 29.
A year ago the RailHawks eliminated the Galaxy from Cup competiton with a 2-1 victory at WakeMed Soccer Park before a sellout crowd.
Tyiselani Shipalane scored the RailHawks’ first goal, with Austen King and Zack Schilawski scoring one each in the second half.
“We are happy with the result and that we are through to the next round,” said RailHawks head coach Colin Clark.
