She spent four years playing at VCU and also spent time playing with the Canadian youth national teams…….Virginia Beach native Corey Ashe, who currently plays left back for the Houston Dynamo of MLS, has been added to the training camp roster for the U.S. MNT game against Belgium on May 29 in Cleveland. This is the first call up to the full MNT for Ashe, a product of the U-17 Residency Program. Ashe, who played collegiate soccer at UNC Chapel Hill, was co-captain of the team that finished in fifth place at the 2003 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Finland…..Former Virgnia men’s soccer standout Will Bates (Chester, VA) signed a MLS contract with the Seattle Sounders in late April. Bates was the fifth overall pick in the 2013 MLS Supplemental Draft……Herndon’s Romain Gall, who plays in the French fourth division with Lorient, scored three goals in his first two games with the U.S. Under-18 MNT in the 19th annual Lisbon International Tournament. He scored in a 1-1 draw with host Portugal and had two goals in a 3-0 win over the Czech Republic……The University of Virginia women’s team will begin a 12-day trip to England, May 20-31, where the Cavaliers will visit Manchester and London. There they will play four games against Super League teams Chelsea and Doncaster and against Premier League-leading Watford……Caroline Miller (Rockville, MD), currently playing professionally with the NWSL Washington Spirit, was recently named the top female athlete for 2012-13 at the University of Virginia….Bo Burns (Raleigh, NC) and Jason Haas (Newport News, VA) have been named captains for the 2013 Hampden-Sydney soccer season.
