Jaime Moreno will be inducted into the D.C. United Hall of Tradition in September during a halftime ceremony at RFK Stadium when the Los Angeles Galaxy play D.C. United. The Bolivian International played in 329 games, starting 288. He ranks first in 15 MLS statistical categories, including games played and starts, as well as minutes Played (25,277), goals (131), assists (102), game-winning goals (26), game-winning assists (26), multi-goal games (17) and penalty kick goals (43). He is the seventh player in club history to be inducted into the Hall of Tradition, joining John Harkes (2003), Marco Etcheverry (2007), Jeff Agoos (2008), Raul Diaz Arce (2009), Eddie Pope (2010), Richie Williams (2011) and Ben Olsen (2012)…..U.S. Under-20 midfielder Danny Garcia is not returning to the University of North Carolina for the fall collegiate season. Garcia, 19, has signed a homegrown contract with FC Dallas of Major League Soccer. The[show_disconnected][show_to accesslevel=’Subscriber’] signing was not a surprise, as Garcia took the spring semester off to train with the Dallas club….The Colorado Rapids have parted ways with Pablo Mastroeni, a mainstay in the Rapids lineup for over a decade. Mastroeni, 36, a veteran of two World Cups for the USA, was traded to the Los Angeles Galaxy. He played 325 regular-season MLS games for Miami and Colorado. He missed most of the 2012 season recovering from post-concussion problems, and appeared in seven games this season for Colorado, starting five games. Mastroeni played collegiate soccer at N.C. State….Just seven months after leading the San Jose Earthquakes to the Supporters Shield as the team with the best Major League Soccer regular season record, Frank Yallop is out of a job. The Earthquakes announced that they have agree to part ways with Yallop by mutual consent, naming assistant coach Mark Watson the interim coach. The move ends a nearly six-year run at the Earthquakes since taking over in 2007. He also coached the original San Jose Earthquakes prior to their move to Houston (2001-2003), winning MLS Coach of the Year in 2001 and 2012….Midfielder Hanson Boakai made his North American Soccer League professional debut for FC Edmonton when he came in as a second-half substitute in the 65th minutes against the Carolina RailHawks. He is the youngest player to ever play in the NASL at age 16 years and 231 days. He beat the previous record holder, who is none other than his FC Edmonton coach Colin Miller, who debuted with the Toronto Blizzard in 1982 as a 17-year old……The New York Cosmos have signed Villarreal legend and former European Champion Marco Senna. Senna, 36, began his career in his native Brazil, but spent the past 11 seasons playing in Spain with Villarreal CF, where he has made more than 313 appearances and scored 29 goals in all competitions. The Cosmos will make their 2013 debut in August, when the NASL begins the second half of the league’s split season…..Former U.S. MNT goalkeeper Juergen Sommer has been hired as the head coach for Indy Eleven, the new North American Soccer League team that will begin playing in 2014. Sommer was an All-America at Indiana University after attending high school in northern Indiana at Culver Academy. He played in England, with 66 appearances with Queens Park Rangers in London and 82 appearances for Luton Town. He played 10 times for the U.S. MNT…..After signing with Aston Villa in 2007, U.S. International Eric Lichaj, 24, has found a new club after signing a two-year deal with Nottingham Forest of the English Championship. Lichaj, who is in the U.S. MNT player pool, but not called up for recent camps by U.S. coach Jurgen Klinsmann, played one season of collegiate soccer at UNC Chapel Hill before turning professional……Mike Magee scored in five straight games for the Chicago Fire after joining the club from the Los Angeles Galaxy in a trade for the rights to Robbie Rogers…..The University of Central Florida has added Jamie Corti to its women’s soccer staff as an assistant coach. She comes to Orlando from Virginia Commonwealth University.
