U.S. international midfielder Danny Williams has signed a four-year contract with Reading, according to an announcement by the English club[show_disconnected][show_to accesslevel=’Subscriber’]. Williams, 24, a German-American, has been plying in Germany with Hoffenheim since 2011. He joins Reading, a League Championship team that was relegated from the EPL this past season.
Williams has been a regular for U.S. MNT coach Jurgen Klinsmann, but was left off the roster for recent friendlies and World Cup qualifiers, because of lack of fitness after an injury layoff at the end of the Bundesliga campaign.
Reading is the former English club of Americans Bobby Convey and goalkeeper Marcus Hahnemann.
