The University of Missouri and Texas A&M joined the Southeastern Conference and both experienced a significant increase in travel expenses[show_disconnected][show_to accesslevel=’Subscriber’]. The Columbia Daily Tribune recently reported that Mizzou spent $7.1 millon on travel for the 2012-13 academic year. That’s $1 million more than anticipated. That was $2 million more than their last year in the Big 12 Conference.

Missouri somen’s soccer coach Bryan Blitz reported a 1,900-mile round-trip to Gainesville and Tuscaloosa, Ala, that involved six bus rides, five flights and 11 stops in seven cities.
