Two East Tennessee State assistant soccer coaches have been selected for the NSCAA’s 30 Under 30 year-long education and mentorship program. Debs Brereton, an ETSU women’s assistant, and Chris Cahill, a men’s soccer assistant, were among the 15 young female and 15 young male coaches chosen for this inaugural program. Cahill grew up in Atlanta playing for the Concorde Fire and went on to play collegiately at Georgia Southern University. Brer[show_disconnected][show_to accesslevel=’Subscriber’]eton played collegiate soccer at Middle Tennessee State University, where she was named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year in 2004. She played in the W-League and WPSL with the San Diego Sunwaves, Nashville Lady Blues, Hampton Road Piranhas and Fort Wayne Fever…..Chris Hennessey, an outstanding defender for the Lee University men’s soccer program (2006-09) has returned to the Flames’ athletic program to serve as an assistant women’s coach under Lee head coach Matt Yelton. Hennessey replaces Chris Walker, who resigned to accept the women’s head soccer coaching position at the University of North Alabama……The ETSU men’s soccer team will look to improve upon its solid 2012 campaign by adding nine newcomers to the roster. Head coach Scott Calabrese’s team has reached the conference finals twice in the past three years. Joining the Buccaneers this fall will be Daniel Adelman (Johnson City, Tenn.), Warren Austin (Kingsport, Tenn.), Donte Bragman (Southampton, Bermuda), Thibault Civalier (Nice, France), Troy Dolmetsch (Northville, Mich.), Jeffery George (Safety Harbor, Fla.), Suddy Hutchine (Knoxville, Tenn.), William Nordenstrom (Linkoping, Sweden), and Anthony Wojas (Dijon, France). Bragman is a transfer, having played 10 matches as a freshman last fall at Saint Louis University with six starts….University of Memphis forward Mark Sherrod (Knoxville, Tenn.) has been named to the College Soccer News Preseason All-American second team.
