Highlanders Get Nod For #1 In Big South

Radford was the #1 pick to win the Big South Conference women’s championship in the coaches’ preseason poll[show_disconnected][show_to accesslevel=’Subscriber’]. The Highlanders received eight first place votes, while three went to second-place High Point and one to Wintrop, selected third.
Rounding out the top 10 in order were Longwood, Coastal Carolina, Campbell, Liberty, Charleston Southern and UNC Asheville. Gardner-Webb, Presbyterian and VMI completed the list.
Radford, seeking a third consecutive championship, returns forward Krystyna Freda and Che’ Brown, (Manassas Park, Va.) the top attacking and defensive players in the BSC a year ago.
Radford’s Ben Sohrabi begins his 17th year as head coach of the Highlanders.
