And Wofford, which edged Davidson, 2-1, has the only win in the only SoCon game played thus far.
Elon goalkeeper Nathan Dean (Liverpool, England), was recently named SoCon Player of the Week after allowing only one goal, while posting 15 saves, as the Phoenix beat #9 Wake Forest and lost 1-0 in OT to William & Mary.
Both Elon and UNC Greensboro have been listed in the NSCAA Division I national rankings this year. Elon dropped after the loss to W&M, while the Spartans, unbeaten at 3-0 and unscored on, fell out of the rankings after losing 3-0 against High Point University.
Furman has not allowed a goal since the opening weekend of the season, posting four consecutive shutouts and outscoring its opponents 19-4.
Wofford sophomore Connor Davis scored his team-leading fifth and sixth goals of the season in a 3-1 win over USC Upstate. Wofford is on its first five-game unbeaten streak since 2009.
Davidson’s 4-0-1 start was its best unbeaten mark to begin a season since 1982.
