In a two-part series Neil Morris told the story about how the National Soccer Hall of Fame came to be in Oneonta, NY, and how finances forced the doors to be closed and all of the memorbilia and displayed shipped to Hillsborough, NC, to be stored in a warehourse owned by Soccer Endeavors (Eurosport/soccer.com).
Actually, what was shipped to Hillsborough were records, artifacts, and memorbilia from US Soccer (the United States Soccer Fedearation).
Much the HOF contents relating to college and high school soccer went to other facilities. Some are currently on display, and much is available to the soccer public.
Southern Soccer Scene will share with readers, “the rest of the story” in our October 23 issue, as publisher Ray Alley talks with Hall of Famer and NSCAA Historian Mickey Cochran.
