The U.S. Beach Soccer National Team closed out its trip to the 2013 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Tahiti with a 6-4 victory against the United Arab Emirates. Nick Perera led the way with three goals.
The U.S. finished third in group play and did not advance to the knockout round after losing its first two games. The U.S. lost to Spain, 5-4, in the opener and to host Tahiti in the second match.
The 5-3 loss to Tahiti in extra time is the result that ended hopes of U.S. advancement.
The win over the UAE was the USA’s first win in the tournament since a 7-6 win against Iran at the 2007 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.
