Saint Leo Men Ranked #7

October 23, 2013 by Ray Alley

Keith Fulk returned to college coaching in the summer of 2011[show_disconnected][show_to accesslevel=’Subscriber’]. Now in his third season as head coach of the Saint Leo’s men’s soccer program, he has the Lions 12-1-1 overall after a narrow 3-2 Sunshine Conference win over Florida Tech.
Maximillian Shulz-Geistghovel’s second goal of the game, coming nine minutes into overtime, proved to be the game-winner over Tech.
The Lions are ranked #7 nationally in the NSCAA Division II poll, and just behind unbeaten and #2 ranked Rollins in the SSC standings. They hold a one-point lead over third-place Lynn and four over Barry, fourth in the SSC men’s standings. Eleven wins are likely to advance the Lions to Division II postseason play.
Tampa’a Tyler Blackwood, with 12 goals in 14 games is the league’s top goalscorer. Blackwood also leads in points with 29, five more than Rollins’ Rafe Faria.
