SoCon Odds & Ends

Regular-season champion Furman will be the top seed in the Southern Conference Women’s Championships. The top four seeds will host first-round matches.
Semifinals and the championship game will be played at Wofford’s Snyder Field in Spartanburg, SC on Nov. 8 & 10.
The Paladins finished the regular season with an 8-1-1 SoCon mark, locking up their first regular season title since 2003. Furman will host #8 Western Carolina.
Elon will go into the tournament seeded #2 and will host #7 Davidson.[show_to]The UNC Greensboro Spartans, the tournament’s third seed, will host #6 seeded Wofford. It will be the first SoCon tournament appearance for Wofford since 2010.
Samford, which got off to a great start with three non-conference wins over SEC schools, earned the #4 seed and will host Appalachian State in the opening round.

SoCon Player of the Week

Citadel forward Nicole Levermann was named the Southern Conference player of the week on Oct. 22. She had three goals to lead The Citadel to a weekend sweep of road matches
at Samford and Chattanooga.
She scored The Citadel’s first two goals in the
Bulldogs’ first-ever win over Samford, 3-2. The New Braunfels, TX, senior scored the gamewinners in The Citadel’s 3-1 victory over Chattanooga.
