The Congaree Rapid Soccer Association (CRSA) has received a grant from the U.S. Soccer Foundation to support the development of soccer fields at the History Columbia Speedway in Cayce[show_disconnected][show_to accesslevel=’Subscriber’].
CRSA has secured a land lease with the Historic Columbia Speedway this fall to begin developing a 4-6 soccer facility with Bermuda grass, a canteen and clubhouse, a grandstand, irrigation system and lighting.
The club signed a 10-year lease for 11.4 acres with an option for a second 10 years.
The Speedway, no longer used for auto racing, has been developed into a festival center that hosts a number of outdoor activities, including car shows, carnivals, charity walks/runs, concerts, corporate outings, movie nights, recreational vehicle and boat shows, trade shows and yard sales.
