A bad year has gotten worse for Jonathan Spector as he has suffered a setback in his thigh injury[show_disconnected][show_to accesslevel=’Subscriber’]. Spector, who plays for Birmingham City in England, was injured in October, and was expected to return to action before the end of the year. However, he has not fully recovered and his return has been postponed to January. The 27-year old Chicago native only made eight league appearances this past season, playing both defense and in the midfield.
Spector, who was signed a decade ago as a teenager by Manchester United, has earned 34 caps for the U.S. National team, with his best performances coming in the 2009 Confederations Cup as a starter in the win over Spain and in the championship game with Brazil.
