U.S. Men’s National Team head coach Jurgen Klinsmann has submitted the 40-player preliminary roster for the historic 2016 Copa America Centenario. Tournament rules require the final 23-player roster to be turned in no later than May 20 to the Local Organizing Committee. All the players on the final list must come from the preliminary roster.
Included is teenage forward Christian Pulisic, who plays for Borussia Dortmund in the German Bundesliga.
The U.S. will begin training camp May 16 in Miami and play three preparation matches in advance of their opener against Colombia on June 3 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.
The U.S. will play Puerto Rico in Bayamón on Sunday, May 22 (12 p.m. ET; FS1, UniMas, UDN), in the first of three warm-up games for the U.S. heading into the Copa America Centenario in June.
Following the trip to Puerto Rico, the USA will face Ecuador on May 25 at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas (7 p.m. CT; ESPN2 and UniMas) and Bolivia on May 28 at Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kansas (7 p.m. CT; FS1 and Univision networks)
