Open Position: Executive Director, ¾ to full time.
The Executive Director (ED) position provides a challenging and meaningful opportunity for a leader with a love of soccer, a passion for youth sports, and strong relationship-building skills. The Executive Director will understand and appreciate why youth participate in soccer, the value the sport offers to players and families as an opportunity to learn and grow, while embracing the Club’s mission to provide affordable soccer to all youth who want to play. The position is the sole full-time paid position within the league and is responsible for coordinating a small core of volunteer staff, parents and local soccer enthusiasts.

Full Job Responsibilities:
Leadership
•Be the primary contact person and face of the Club
•Identify, assess and inform the Board of internal and external issues that affect the Club
•Represent BSC at community, NCYSA and Tournaments to enhance the Club’s profile
•Act as a professional advisor to the Board on all aspects of the Club’s activities
Operational Planning and Management
•Oversee the efficient and effective day-to-day operation of the Club
•Organize and run all team formation activities (e.g. tryouts, coach identification)
•Ensure proper field preparation, maintenance & game day setup – in coordination with the Board
•Negotiate and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors
*Work with the Board to maintain and grow the relationships with Recreation and Parks organizations.
•Order and organize uniform and equipment as needed and maintain inventory of necessary equipment
•Organize and coordinate all BSC related programs including summer camps and end of year soccer celebration
•Draft policies for approval of the Board and prepare procedures to implement organizational policies; review existing policies on an annual basis and recommend changes to the Board as appropriate
•Ensure organizational compliance with relevant organizations
Human Resources Planning and Management
•Oversee the Administrative Assistant, Directors of Coaching and other paid staff.
•Coordinate and grow the BSC volunteer pool – coaches, parents, area coordinators, field marshals etc…
•Organize and ensure that proper risk management protocols are followed
•Organize proper Safety and First Aid regimens
•Encourage, and where possible enable, the continued development and education of staff and volunteers
Fundraising and Marketing
•Identify, pursue and secure opportunities for grants, sponsorships and donations to support BSC development and programs
•Create and promote marketing opportunities for the club (e.g. publish a bi-monthly newsletter)
•Update and maintain the BSC website
•Update and maintain the BSC mailing list and email directory
•Work with staff and Board to prepare an annual budget
•Work with the Board to ensure adequate funding for the operation of the Club
Applicants should have:
•Prior experience playing, coaching and/or administering within the club soccer community
•Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien
•Strong organizational skills
•Strong people (business) skills
•Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
•Live nearby to Alamance County, NC
•An entrepreneurial spirit
•The ability to work weekends and evenings in order to attend games and interact with players, coaches and parents. Hold events – e.g. tryouts, board meetings
•Some familiarity with web content management systems (or at least not be afraid of computers and willing to learn)
•Preferably worked as a Director of Coaching or similar position within an non-profit coccer club
Minimum Education and Experience
•Possession of at least a bachelor’s degree, preferably in sports management, business or related field
•Three-plus years of increasingly responsible professional experience, preferably in association management in a supervisory capacity; or, any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
Salary Range
•$30,000 – $40,000 dependent on experience and skills
